Version 0.2
INTRO:
-----
Basically checks all files that are uploaded and defined
in your archive configuration withen DLG.
Installation:
------------
1) Put DLGFileChecker executable in a directory where
you put most of your 3rd part executables.
2) Edit DLGConfig:Batch/Upload1.Batch file and put
'<PATH>DLGFileChecker <filename> <usergroup>' in it,
replacing <PATH> with the complete path were
DLGFileChecker executable was put (see #1). If
you do not already have a DLGConfig:Batch/Upload1.Batch
file, then use the one provided in this archive.
The batch file included presumes you put the executable
in DLG:, if not, please edit to show otherwise.
<filename> passed to Upload1.Batch by DLG which also needs
to be passed to DLGFileChecker.
<groupname> optional, allows you to define a particular
group of users recieve 'File Failure' messages from
DLGFileChecker. By defualt it is set to 'Sysop'.
Additional Setup:
----------------
1) Make sure your archive configuration in the DLG
Sysop Menu is updated. And also keep in mind that
the level part of the configuration is for the mail
bundle programs, so dont put DMS at level 1, I do not
want to hear a user on your BBS tried to pack a message
bundle (or QWK bundle) with DMS.
2) This utility should also know how use %switches. If
you can test this, I will appriciate it, since I have
not.
3) Make sure the group name 'SYSOP' is defined. You can
find the Group menu from the sysop menu using the 'A'
command unless you have changed it. Of course you can
manually put in a different group name to be used via
command line.
Versions:
--------
0.1 Beta version, was not released, if you have it delete it.
0.2 Beta version, had a bug that cuased a system failure only
when a file failed the integrity check due to memory not
being properly allocated.
Added the option of specifing a group name.
0.3 1st release. Please thank the users below in thier help
making this program safe for you!
Future:
------
1) An option to extract the file and virus check it. Im
looking for a good virus checker to do this.
2) Put BBS Ad's into file.
3) Add support to grab diz files and auto description file.
4) Possibly add support to identify pictures, size them
for a description and compress in best form.
Beta Testers:
------------
Sean Caszatt
Bill Williford
Phillip Eastham
Archive Setup Suggestions:
-------------------------
These listings are suggestions for your archive setup, they
are only recomendations, if you find a differnt setup to be
better then use it, if you do, please send me a picture (text or
iff of it) of it to be officially put in this distribution. Also
keep in mind some archivers use ANSI ISO/IBM/CSI/ETC. codes, like
LHA (specify the -Qa option to reduce it so if a file fails there
will be less garbage in the message).
The Archive setup menu is in the General Configuration Menu,
if you have not changed your sysop menu around too much, just type
';G;A' from the Sysop Menu and you will be there (dont type ').
UserLevel needs to be set if you want a user to use a archiver
in a QWK Bundler, or any other type of message bundling system, set
it to 1 (or any other level you want certain users to use it), and
255 for archivers that are not capable of bundling messages, like
Disk Compressers like DMS, OWS, etc...
LHA & LZH Setup:
[5] Integrity check string: LHA -Qa t ~d
Success: 0
[6] File Extension: LHA
[8] User Level: 1
ZIP Setup:
[5] UNZip -t ~d
[6] ZIP
